Maple Syrup - Gathering Pt. 1

Since we have been tapped, the temperatures have been very warm for this time of the year. You typically want the temperatures to get up around the 40s during the day, and at night have it freeze up again. The trees were running all night long, so by the time we got to gathering, lots of them were overflowing. We got around 1,400 gallons the first day, 1,650 the next day, and 750 the day after. Because it did not freeze for a few days, the trees slowed down on giving sap allowing us to catch up on boiling.
