My dad continued to boil for long periods of time over the next three days after he got home from work. We had lots of friends and family come out and experience the maple syrup operation and some helped as well. My mom made dinner one night, I made dinner then next, and the last night of boiling we ordered in because we were so busy. We've been eating all of our dinners in the woods, so we can keep on boiling. We got cold weather with sleet and snow that froze the trees up for the weekend which allowed us to get all caught up. The last night of boiling, my parents stayed back in the woods for almost 15 hours until they ran out of sap. We put over 4,000 gallons of sap through the evaporator over the past week and made out with 62 gallons of maple syrup so far this season.
