Getting Baby Chicks

Yesterday morning the baby chicks got delivered to the post office, so mom went and got them picked up. These baby chicks will be raised as our meat birds which we will eat. In 8 weeks they will grow from a little chick into a 6+ lb bird. It was rainy all day long, so we worked on stuff indoors. I fed the cows 6 bales of hay and also some grain. I put 15 pieces of wood on the fire last night and dumped a bucket of ash in the garden. Today I worked on sorting through my seeds and making some labels for them. I went up to the farm and filled a bunch of little plastic plant pots with dirt in our greenhouse. I planted a bunch of different varieties of sunflowers and got them labeled. Every year I grow sunflowers and then give jars of flowers to all the older people out by us.

I ended up bedding the cows with some more straw and feeding them 6 bales of hay today. Mom painted the ceiling in the farm's house to brighten things up. I put 30 pieces of wood on the fire for the night. Dad went back to the woods tonight and walked around and he ended up finding a deer shed. His was a little ate up from squirrels and mice unfortunately, but it's cool he found one.
