Today my dad came home early from work to get a head start on boiling. When I got home I stopped by the farm and fed my cows some hay. I rode a mini bike back to the woods to get the side by side and then I brought it home to pick up my mom and sisters. We got back to the woods and began to gather our south loop. Halfway through it, my dad came and helped us with gathering. Bruce Wingeier came back and boiled at the shack for dad. We went and unloaded and then kept on going. Ben Wisner showed up to help us gather which helped out a lot. My dad went and unloaded at the shack and we filled up all the buckets so we could get ahead a little. We finished gathering at 6:35 just as it was getting dark. In total we got just over 1,400 gallons sap tonight. I unloaded the tank and then drained the hoses and the pump. Dad had pumped the 1,500 gallons of sap from yesterday into the top tank which gravity feeds into the shack, so eveything tonight went in the bottom tank. I hooked up the top tank to feed into the shack after I got the sap wagon moved, and then I came home with my sisters and some syrup. I brought the syrup into the house and then came up to the farm where I fed my cows some corn and hay for the night. I went back to the woods and exchanged out the side by side for a mini bike which I took home. I put 26 pieces of wood on the fire for the night. My dad made just over 14 gallons of syrup tonight.
